I took these pics yesterday.
Left/back rugose one is a frosty yellow, I have not looked up the cross yet.
The yellow one is a seedling x (StardustxOMT475)
The pinkish purple flowers and red scapes caught my attention as I walked by this one that was hiding among some bigger greenies.
These are from the 2007-8 season, so second year in the garden.

Thanks, Bev, The leaves are kind of ugly this year because of it's cramped location, but the color is vibrant. It will be planted in a better location next year so that I can see what the mound will do. Light makes the yellow brighter I can tell at least, and it may be susceptible to scorching.

Dave
I think they look better when they come up in the same sun they are to be grown in.

You've got a couple of nice ones there, Dave. Very Happy Looks like OMT did what you wanted. I'd be selfing the heck out of it & see if you can keep the yellow & push the red up higher.

Reldon, you seem to already know where I am going with this!
3 of my crosses are OMT. I am trying Nigrescens on one, just on a whim... would love to get a tall erect red petiole plant too.
Nigrescens is a reluctant parent, but I have a few plants that prove it is possible to use.

Brian, I agree 100%.

Two fantastic looking late yellows Dave! I love the leaves on the one to the left and the flowers, pets and scapes of the one on the right. Have you crossed the two together?

The Corrugated yellow is
Seedling 508 x Abiqua Drinking Gourd. That explains the shape and flowers! But not the bloom time.
Now to figure out what seedling 508 was...
I think it was a gold seedling, either a Bright Lights x Liberty or Christmas Tree x Paradigm.

Thanks Jeff.
Amazingly I found 508.
It is Cinnamon Sticks x Leafmould's "Big Gold", pollen he mailed to me in about 2004.
508 is yellow with speckled red petioles, and is not vigorous... probably needs fertilizer. It is still in a pot!
So I was going for red pets and did not get them.... the Abiqua Drinking Gourd suppressed the Red petiole genes.
If I remember correctly, 'Big Gold', a seedling of Leafmould's, was Elatior x Montana Macrophylla or something like that. I could potentially track that down with some serious sleuthing.
I really should keep better records!

Great looking plants to play with this time of year Dave!

Nice to hear the backgrounds as it makes ones imagination go to work.
